Who I am
I am the first born daughter of a large family with a passion for helping others. As an eldest daughter, a person with neurodivergence, and someone managing chronic illness, I have had my share of challenges to overcome-but I have never been one to shy away from a challenge. There have been periods of time in which I have felt misunderstood and alone. My personal experiences are what drive me to help others; I never want anyone to feel like they are alone in the ways that I have felt alone.
I am a firm believer in being a lifelong learner. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Saginaw Valley State University, and completed my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Oakland University. Though my days on a university campus may be done, I consider my education far from over. Between sessions I am constantly striving to learn new modalities and interventions that may be helpful to my clients.
In my spare time I can be found baking, embroidering, gardening, or cuddling with my pets. My current favorite album is Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party and I am currently reading the manga for Solo Leveling. I love traveling, experiencing live music, and immersing myself in the arts.
What I Believe
I believe that every person is deserving of a life where they can live in their truth with authenticity and dignity, regardless of physical or mental ability. I believe that therapy is not only for those that are financially privileged, but for all individuals. As a result, I strive to offer services in an accessible fashion and at an accessible rate.
I believe that attending therapy is a radical act that stands up to the powers that be and recognizes our unique individual needs in a system designed to keep us isolated and afraid. Many of us are afraid to pause and recognize ourselves because there may be pain. You do not have to be afraid, and you do not have to be alone. I am here if you would like some company on the journey.
